Cancer Survivor Health Optimization Program
The Cancer Survivor Health Optimization Program is a comprehensive health evaluation and management program designed for people with a history of cancer who have received treatment and are currently free of disease.
Areas of Focus
The program involves four areas of focus:
- Understanding the prior cancer diagnosis, stage, treatment and risk of recurrence
- Quantifying the risk of developing other common cancers
- Developing an individualized risk-based cancer screening and surveillance strategy
- Comprehensive health evaluation and optimization to maximize quality of life and functional status and minimize the risk of recurrence
Our Approach
The program embodies the principles of Health Optimization Medicine and “Medicine 3.0” focusing on proactive management of the root causes of chronic diseases, including cancer.
It is highly data driven through objective measurement of:
- Cancer risk
- Cardiopulmonary fitness
- Metabolic, mitochondrial and immune health
Evidence-based changes in the “four pillars of health”—nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress and emotional health—are combined with targeted use of supplements, drugs, hormones, and management of toxin exposure to improve these parameters.
Frequent data collection and wearable devices are used to measure the impact of changes in lifestyle or treatment.
The specific focus of health interventions will vary based upon the patient’s cancer history, baseline cardiopulmonary fitness, and metabolic health.
The metabolic optimization plan will be developed in collaboration with the managing oncology team to ensure seamless integration and synergy with the planned treatment.
