How will I know if this is helpful?
Short-Term Measures
Over the short term, effectiveness of the interventions will be measured through favorable changes in:
- Symptoms — How you feel day-to-day
- Quality of life — Energy, mood, sleep quality
- Functional testing — Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET)
- Body composition — DEXA scan measurements
- Laboratory values — Metabolic markers, inflammatory markers, hormone levels
These objective measurements allow us to track your progress and adjust your plan as needed.
Long-Term Measures
In the long term, success will be determined by cancer outcomes such as:
- Recurrence rates
- Survival
Our Commitment to Measurement
Although we will not be able to determine definitively that our programs changed the outcome in a specific patient, we plan a patient registry to measure the long-term outcomes for our patients compared to historical controls.
This commitment to measurement and continuous improvement is a core part of our approach.
