What are you building for the future?
We are excited about the opportunity to increase the population of patients we serve and continue to learn and develop new services.
Ketogenic Metabolic Therapy Program
Our next area of focus will be to develop a ketogenic metabolic therapy program for cancer.
Our Cancer Treatment Health Optimization Program is designed to complement standard treatments for cancer, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Unfortunately, some patients cannot tolerate or do not respond to standard cancer treatments, and have limited treatment options.
The Potential
Preclinical research suggests that metabolic interventions alone can be used to treat cancer. This will likely require a combination of:
- A restricted ketogenic diet
- Repurposed medications
- An oxidative stimulus such as IV vitamin C or hyperbaric oxygen therapy
Such a protocol would be very complex and challenging to complete, but would offer a potential treatment option for some patients with no other treatment options. It will be critical to use a standardized protocol in the context of a clinical trial to determine if this approach is safe and potentially effective.
Current Status
We are currently developing a ketogenic metabolic therapy trial for selected patients with non-CNS malignancies. Many aspects of the trial remain to be defined including IRB approval and funding, but it is anticipated that this will be available in mid to late 2026.
